A rare, warm sunny evening on the very edge of a Midlands city. "Anyone fancy a stroll,?" asks my son. Yes, I do.
So we crossed the busy road onto a small lane leading to an old Hall and gardens. We walked along, chatting about this and that; enjoying the balmy air and the evening light. As we approached the entrance to the Hall, I notice a young peacock stood in the doorway, almost as if waiting for opening time! He listened closely as we greeted him, moving towards us and around us without fear. He was so young that his tail feathers were still quite short and not developed.
As I am a great believer in signs and symbols from Spirit - I wondered if, perchance, the Peacock had dropped a feather. At first glance there was nothing to be seen but when I looked closer - there between the wooden ramp and the path, was a small but perfectly formed tail feather with an eye! How wonderful! I felt triply blessed - firstly, to be walking with my beloved eldest son, secondly, to meet this friendly, beautiful bird and thirdly, for the gift of such a stunning feather.
“Peacock teaches us how to show the world our inner and external beauty without hiding anything. On the contrary, to dare and declare: 'I am aware of the presents God has given me and am sharing them with the world so that all may enjoy this beauty' Peacock teaches us how to project honor and grace.
If this magnificent bird has appeared in your life as an escort and soul guide, it signifies a promise that dawn is about to rise and a new beginning awaits you around the corner. Peacock totem always brings the promise of rebirth and a life full of color, flight and self-realization."
